UPDATE 11/18/2009 - The DuPage County Health Department is working in collaboration with College of DuPage and the Village of Downers Grove to offer two appointment-only H1N1 vaccination clinics. The first clinic will be held in Building K at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, on Saturday, Dec. 12. The second clinic will be held the following day, Sunday, Dec. 13, at Downers Grove South High School, 1436 Norfolk. The vaccinations are provided free of charge.
To make an appointment for a H1N1 vaccine please call 1-866-311-1123. The DuPage County Health Department H1N1 vaccination clinics are specifically for people in high priority groups, including:
- Pregnant women
- People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age
- Health care and emergency medical personnel
- Anyone from 6 months through 24 years of age
- Anyone from 25 through 64 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions or a weakened immune system

Update 10/23/2009 - Initial Vaccination Schedule Issued by the DuPage County Health Department
The DuPage County Health Department has announced an initial vaccination schedule between Oct. 22 and Nov. 8 for citizens included in the five priority groups identified by the U.S. Center for Disease Control – pregnant women; household contacts and caregivers for children younger than six months of age; Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel; all people from six months to 24 years of age; persons aged 25 to 64 years who have health conditions associated with a higher risk of medical complications from influenza.

College of DuPage recently hosted a meeting between the DuPage County Health Department and the Tri-City Planning Group to discuss preventative measures and processes that will be implemented countywide during the upcoming Novel H1N1 flu season.
The Tri-City Planning Group is comprised of police and fire officials, as well as school districts from Glen Ellyn, Wheaton and Winfield. During the Oct. 1 meeting, DCHD Executive Director Maureen McHugh emphasized the continued importance of prevention during the months preceding and during flu season. These measures include:
- Frequent hand washing
- Sanitizing of hard surfaces (using an anti-bacterial spray or cloths)
- Coughing into the arm (not hands) to prevent contamination
College of DuPage will continue to work with the DuPage County Health Department and Tri-City Planning Group to provide accurate and updated information regarding the Novel H1N1 virus, including vaccination information, as it becomes available.
Current Actions
College of DuPage students, staff or faculty who experience flu-like symptoms while on campus, should first GO HOME.
After they are safely home, students, staff or faculty members should contact C.O.D. Health Services by e-mail at reporttheflu@cod.edu or by phone at (630) 942-2154 as soon as possible for a confidential consultation. This consultation will include:
- Health information regarding treatment and follow up
- A confidential incident report
- Follow up by a nurse via telephone for 48 to 72 hours
