Free Food for Thought Series Begins Sept. 2 at C.O.D.

Aug. 4, 2009 – College of DuPage Counseling Services will offer a number of free Food for Thought workshops on time management, goal setting and test-taking strategies to all students and community members beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2.
 
Workshops are held in Student Resource Center (SRC) Room 1450A, at the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
 
“Managing Anxiety” meets noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. Participants will discuss the nature of anxiety, as well as its impact on the mind and body.  Coping tips, including breathing and relaxation exercises, will also be provided.
 
“Listen to Your Heart to Find Your Direction” is offered 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. Participants will explore how values guide and influence decisions, including career choices.
 
“Using Visualization Imagery for Goal Attainment and Stress Reduction” is offered 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2. Participants study visualization and guided imagery and will complete a guided imagery exercise.
