By Jennifer Duda

Oct. 14, 2009 – Singer, songwriter, author, public speaker and filmmaker Sara Hickman brings her blend of humor, stories and enthusiasm to the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn, for Club MAC performances in Theatre 2 at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 27 and 28, and a family show at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.

Hickman, who learned guitar at age seven and wrote and performed her first song by age eight, writes about human nature, drawing on personal experience to tell the stories. Her whimsical, insightful songs offer clever observations of the world around us.

For her children’s show, the songwriter draws on her experiences as a mother to express the wonder of the world. Her tunes appeal to children but carry enough maturity for parents to join in the fun.

Tickets to Hickman’s Club MAC performances are $34 for adults, $32 for seniors and $24 for College of DuPage students and youth. Cabaret table seating is $40 for adults, $38 for seniors and $30 for C.O.D. students and youth.

Tickets to Hickman’s Nov. 28 family show are $12.
