College of DuPage’s fifth annual Nursing Reunion will take place on Friday, Nov. 13, in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center, Student Resource Center, at College of DuPage. A social reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
All proceeds from the event, which attracts graduates from the College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program, will benefit the Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund.
The keynote speaker is Linnea Carlson-Sabelli, who has been a faculty member at Rush University in Chicago for 31 years. She is a certified trainer, educator and practitioner of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy, and the specialty coordinator for the Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Rush.
Currently she is involved in researching the learning outcomes associated with “The Neighborhood,” and innovative virtual learning environment that is a collaboration between Rush and the University of New Mexico.
Marilyn Johnston, professor of Nursing at College of DuPage and co-chair of the event, likes the dual purpose of the event.
“It’s wonderful to see our graduates again and hear about their successes,” Johnston said. “It’s also gratifying to see them turn out for an event that supports our future students.”
The $40 fee includes both the reception and the dinner. The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 30. For more information, contact Johnston at (630) 942-2172, e-mail:
