Connie Canaday Howard, Director
College Theater includes StageWorks, which are fully designed productions, Actors’ Theatre in the Studio, productions using minimal design in order to focus on the acting process as an extension of the classroom, and Freestage, which is an exciting alternative performance arena emphasizing imaginative writing and directing, resourceful acting, and creative use of space. Interested actors are invited. Phone (630) 942-3008 to add your name to the audition mailing list for more information.
FREESTAGE offers students as well as faculty members, an opportunity to develop, explore and stretch their creativity and skills in a free environment. Freestage is a forum in which students and faculty can apply knowledge gained in classes and labs by producing a scene, a one act play, several scenes from different plays, or a full length play. Staged readings of original scripts can also be arranged. Freestage operates with a minimal budget and no fixed theatre space. Thus the emphasis is on imaginative writing & directing, resourceful acting, & creative use of space.
MAC Pack discounts do not apply to Student Theater performances.
College of DuPage Students may audition for any of the six fully-staged productions each year. Auditions are held at the beginning of each academic term.
